Nickel Drier Coil Refurbishment Project

Overview

Due to severe erosion of parts (see Fig 1), we undertook a refurbishment of an ex-service Nickel drying coil.

Coil Welding Project - Perth Mining

The project was broken down into the following process:

  • Replacement of coils 1-12 due to excessive wear
  • Replacement of all coil wear plates and scrapers due to excessive wear
  • Replacement of both the drive and the drive shafts due to corrosion and wear
  • Lifting the and manipulating the entire 9500kg unit to allow an efficient and ergonomic work area
  • 100% 3rd Pty Penetrant testing to all welds
  • NATA approved Nitrogen pressure testing
  • All welding and testing in full compliance to AS-1210-1 standards
